Some events are predictable. The return of autumn is one certainty. Falling leaves, starry nights. Moon light and magic. People have an autumn, too. As leaves hit the ground, humans turn reverent, circle round what is true. In hushed moments, they stand solemn, on a moonlit path, with only stars as witness.
